I made the trip to my favourite venue, the Brook in Southampton and saw Chris sing with the SAS Band.

It is a couple of years since I last saw the SAS Band and they played an excellent set with many new songs. Chris showed his prowess, unfourtunately I did not have time to speak to him afterwards as I have done before. The first song Chris sang was Joybringer! I was totally surprised and delighted by this choice - great stuff. Amongst others Chris sang Blinded, Quinn/Do Wah Diddy. You're the Voice, and Innuendo, which is not an easy song to play.

Other guest SAS vocalists were Kiki Dee, Eric Gouldman, Tom Robinson (played Motorway, War Baby and Predict A Riot), Graham Gouldman, Paul Young and Midge Ure. A really varied group of players and songs. Midge dedicated "Boys Are Back in Town" to Phil Lynott who of course he worked with. As it is xmas we got I Wish it Could Be Christmas Everyday and Do They Know Its Christmas.

A great party atmosphere with quality musicians.

Great review! Thanks for sharing! I sure hope that someone uploads a clip of Joybringer. The Earth Band no longer performs this song...and who better to sing any song than Chris? Sounds like you had a great time!
